Patriotism

Have you noticed that nowadays there are barely any American flags flown on private houses? Why is that? What has changed so drastically in our culture that even small-town USA looks barely patriotic?

Matt and I also did not have a flag. I assumed it must be an expensive undertaking, but I was pleasantly proved wrong! Matt purchased an entire packet that includes everything we need to hang a nice-sized flag from a six-foot pole at Brad’s True Value in Mt. Vernon for only $12!

That made me happy. And now our farm house proudly displays our nation’s flag. Will you join us?

And in case you were worried (like me) about doing something wrong, here’s a link to a website that has American flag etiquette. Click here!

My name is Ginia Oehlschlager and I'm a small-town gal from Missouri. Join me as I document my crazy life on the farm with my husband and four kids. I'm always looking for frugal, simple ways to live the life God set before me. Where faith, family and fun come together on the farm.

  1. We have a big flag pole and flag on our deck! I love it! Thanks for the encouragement to be more patriotic! USA, USA, USA!
